Design and Manufacturing of an Advanced Prototype for Liquid Dispensing to Showcase to Potential Investors

What was the challenge or problem to solve?

The Product Development team at INFINITIA received an exciting and challenging task: the design and manufacturing of an advanced prototype for a client who needed more than just graphic material and patents to publicly showcase their product. The goal was clear: to provide a tangible and aesthetically pleasing prototype that demonstrated the product’s functionality and allowed the client to present it effectively to investors and at trade shows.

The device in question featured a patented fluid dispensing system but lacked technical validation. This crucial component needed to be implemented and tested in the prototype, which required thorough study and meticulous development of the mechanism before proceeding with the rest of the device. The challenge lay not only in the technical validation of the dispensing system but also in ensuring that the final prototype was both functional and aesthetically attractive.

The technical complexity of the project and the need for rigorous validation of the dispensing system were significant challenges, but also opportunities to demonstrate the company’s capability in innovation and advanced prototype development.

How was it addressed or what was the solution?

To tackle the challenge, extensive laboratory tests were conducted using the dosing technology proposed by the client. This initial process was crucial for obtaining and validating the necessary geometries that served as the foundation for the mechanical development of the functional prototype. 3D printers were used to manufacture the test parts, and flow sensors were employed to accurately measure and adjust the performance of the dispensing system. This approach ensured that the technology was validated before proceeding with the development of the rest of the device.

With the geometries validated, the design of the necessary parts and assemblies to integrate all components of the prototype was carried out. The final designs were modeled in 3D using professional software, optimized for rapid prototyping manufacturing. This meticulous design process ensured that all parts of the prototype worked in harmony, facilitating subsequent assembly and testing.

The parts were manufactured using a high-resolution resin 3D printer, followed by detailed assembly and testing of each component to verify its functionality. Assembly tools and rigorous testing procedures allowed for the identification and implementation of necessary modifications, ensuring that the final prototype was fully functional.

Finally, the prototype was delivered to the client, and a live demonstration was conducted. The result was a resounding success: the functional and aesthetic prototype allowed the client to clearly and effectively showcase their product to their target audience, meeting all the requirements and expectations set. This project not only demonstrated INFINITIA’s ability to develop advanced prototypes but also its commitment to excellence and innovation.
