Validation of materials requirements for ASME certification

What was the challenge or problem to solve?

ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) certification is an international standard that involves compliance with a number of standards for materials. It is a highly demanding protocol and the application process is lengthy and costly.

Validation of materials requirements for ASME certification
For this reason, our client wanted to carry out a series of tests on its product to verify whether it complied with the established requirements. If not, the material would have to be improved to comply with the standard.

How was it addressed or what was the solution?

The tests specified in the standard were prepared, which would allow the data to be obtained and the validity of the materials to be checked. The relevant laboratory analyses were then carried out.

From the data obtained, the results were interpreted to determine whether the results conformed to the requirements of the ASME certificate. Some of the metals tested conformed correctly, while others only partially conformed.

A final report was drawn up with the conclusions of the study, which included a series of recommendations for improvement for the materials that did not comply with any parameter, so that the client could make the necessary corrections and improvements to achieve the certification of the material.
